Sonya McPherson-Hills

Director, Assessor/Tutor

I have worked in the education sector for 20 years - as an Early Years Educator, College Lecturer, Personal Tutor, Functional Skills Teacher and Vocational Qualifications (formally NVQ) Assessor.

I have taught, trained and tutored hundreds of learners over the years. With lots of experience in delivering work-based training, I pride myself on the extra love and care I put into my work. I love my job and get a great deal of satisfaction out of helping others achieve their goals in a way that suits their preferences. I am responsive to learners' needs and always receive excellent feedback from those I have taught, tutored and trained. I feel this extra personal touch sets me apart from other assessors and trainers which is why (modesty aside) I have always been popular with learners.

  • CertEd (University of Kent)

  • A1 Assessor's Award (South Kent College)

Jayne Ward

Assessor/Tutor and Trainee IQA

I have been assessing since June 2010 after I decided to take a career leap from working as an Early Years Educator. Luckily for me, it worked out to be a good leap as I really enjoy assessing.

I have 10 years of experience in providing work based training and online learning courses to pre-apprentice, childcare and play work candidates as well as delivering Early Years Educator qualifications to candidates and supporting their Functional Skills.

I get a great deal of satisfaction from supporting individuals to achieve their learning goals with the intent to provide an excellent, high-quality training experience for learners within their chosen vocation. With this in mind, and with a keen eye for quality, I am currently undertaking an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification so that I can learn more about how to ensure the best quality is provided for learners.

Qualifications

  • BA (with Hons) Childhood and Youth Studies

  • A1 Assessor's Award

  • PTLLS

  • Level 4 Certificate in Children's Care, Learning and Development

  • Level 3 Award in Playwork for Early Years and Childcare Workers
