
Course Introduction
This level 3 qualification is required by Ofsted for learners who work, or wish to work, with EYFS children from birth to 5 years old in a variety of settings. The qualification also provides opportunities for the confirmation of competence for learners working towards Early Years Educator status.

What are the Entry Requirements?
There is not a requirement for learners to have GCSE grades A*–C in English and maths prior to commencing this qualification however learners should be aware that English is required to attain Early Years Educator status.
It is not essential for learners to be in employment to undertake this qualification but they must have access to a suitable workplace to be able to meet the work experience requirements. (We can help you to find a suitable placement)
How long does it take?
Although this course is usually achieved in 6-18 months, you can set the pace. You choose when to start and how long you would like to complete the course.
Total qualification time is 620 hrs.
Whether it takes less than 6 months or longer than 12 months is entirely up to you!
How Will I Be Assessed?
A combination of work-based assessments (observations/ professional discussion/ questioning/ witness testimonies) and written assignments. Assessment will be agreed prior to assessor visits.
All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a pass - there is no grading.
Will I Need To Attend Classes?
No, however your assessor will arrange some learning sessions either online or in person to suit your requirements and time constraints. All practical assessments are carried out in the workplace.
